CZ/EN EGOÉ BASKET BRNO : BK KLOSTERNEUBURG DUKES 77:76 (7:18, 25:34, 45:57)
Rakušané na nás nastoupili silně. Timur Bas otevřel utkání proměněnou trojkou a hned ze začátku jsme během tří minut prohrávali 0:7. Poté se podařilo dát Jakubu Joklovi šestkou náš první bod. Celou čtvrtinu se nám nedařilo proměňovat střely, hostům bohužel ano. Primárně jsme sice hráli přes pivota, ale při výhozu ven jsme netrefovali. První desetiminutovka skončila 7:18. Druhou čtvrtinu otevřel opět Klosterneuburg a smůla se nás držela i dále. Dostávali jsme jednoduché koše a nedařilo se nám v obraně. Dali jsme už sice více košů než předtím, ale nedokázali jsme se přenést přes desetibodové manko. Pod
deset bodů jsme snížili až v posledních vteřinách, kdy jsme skončili první poločas poměrem 25:34.
Hosté opět zahájili čtvrtinu prvním košem. Utkání se pak
vyvíjelo podobně jako doteď. Klosterneuburg trochu navýšil náskok, který jsme potom opět dorovnali a před poslední periodou jsme prohrávali 45:57. V konečné části zápasu jsme ožili. Viktor Vašát zvedl tým svojí šňůrou sedmi bodů, trojkou na něj navázal Radek Farský a soupeř nebyl schopný dát koš. Spustili jsme lavinu – během čtyř minut jsme Rakušany přehráli 17-4 a poprvé jsme vedli. Před koncem jsme pak mírně polevili, ale pod taktovkou Keelyho jsme zápas dotáhli do vítězného konce (77:76).
Damir Zeleznik, asistent trenéra týmu BK Klosterneuburg Dukes: „Myslím, že to byl velmi vyrovnaný zápas a oba týmy dobře bojovaly. Myslím, že jsme odehráli velmi dobrou první čtvrtinu, kde jsme kontrolovali tempo hry a hráli velmi dobře v obraně. Druhá polovina, a zejména poslední čtvrtina, byla velkým zklamáním. To nás stálo v koncovce zápas.”

trenér, odehráli velmi dobrou první polovinu a zejména první čtvrtinu. Běžně takto ze začátku nehrajeme, ale nechal jsem hrát hráče, kteří jindy tolik minut nedostávají. Ukázalo se, že musí
být v této roli vice zodpovědní. Každopádně to byl dobrý boj, jak od nich, tak od nás. Mají určité podobnosti s Děčínem a toho se pokusíme využít v náš prospěch. Například při přebírání v obraně. Celkově se nám moc nedařilo, ale ke konci jsme dokázali zabrat a s trochou štěstí jsme vyhráli.”

The Austrian team started the match with a dominance. Timur Bas made the first three-point shot, which was the first basket of the game, and we were losing by seven points within three minutes (0:7). After that Jakub Jokl managed to score our first point. We were not able to make a shot the whole first period. The other team was. Our primal plan on offense was to play through a center but when we passed the ball outside the arc we did not score. First period ended 7:18. Klosterneuburg opened a period again and we still had a bad luck. We kept receiving easy baskets and did not played well on defense. Even though we scored more points than before, we were not able to overcome a ten-point deficit. The first time we did it was a few second before a halftime. The score was 25:34.
The visitors again opened a quarter with a made basket. The match looked the same as it did from the beginning. Klosterneuburg raised their lead a bit but we managed to cut it. We were losing 45:57 before the last period but we came to life in the last quarter. Viktor Vašát boosted our team with seven consecutive points and Radek Farský continued our dominance with a three-pointer. The other team was unable to score. We started an avalanche as we outplayed Austrians 17-4 in just four minutes and managed to take our first lead in the game. Home players did not keep up with the pace before the end of the match. But we executed in the final seconds and won under a leadership from Reginald Keely.
Damir Zeleznik, assistant coach of BK Klosterneuburg Dukes: “I think that it was a very close game, a very good fight from both teams. I think that we played a really good first quarter where we controlled the pace and played a good defence. Second half, and especially the last quarter, was really disappointing. That cost us the game down the stretch.”
Dejan Jakara, head coach of Egoé Basket Brno: “Like the coach said, they played a very good first half and especially first quarter. We do not usually play like this at the start, but I gave minutes to some guys that do not get that many minutes. So, I think that they will have to be more responsible in this scenario. Anyway, it was a good fight for them and for us as well. They have some similarities with Děčín so we try to use that in our advantage, for example switching in defence. We were not quite successful but in the end we closed the game with a great stretch and with a little bit of luck we won.”
